Capsule Tradesow
03.02.2010
First let me start by giving a big THANK YOU to Maya, Melly, Kelley Anne, Honey Bunny, hannah, and fiftyseven (let me know if you two have blogs, too) for being such great e-friends. I've been a giant ball of anxiety this week and your kind words have helped more than you know!

What is this, you say? Three floors of high-end indie designer heaven in a venue I'm pretty sure I'd be married in if I lived in New York.
Well, yes, that's exactly what it is! The Capsule Tradeshow held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation building in NYC was a who's who of Independent, high-fashion gems that could easily have made me pass out if I was truly ready for it.

Rodebjer, Samantha Pleet (SWOON), Henrik Vibskov (crazy and interesting), MEW (so cute), and my personal favorite, Rachel Antonoff (!!!!!!) were all on hand peddling things that I would murder in cold blood for. (Luckily, ModCloth will be carrying Miss Antonoff's frocks this Fall! AHHHHHH!)

More Antonoff. Do you SEE those yellow shorts? WTF?

Naturally, we spent lots of time at the Dear Creatures booth. Bianca (the owner/deisgner) is more or less the most adorable girl in the entire world. I'd buy a paper bag from her if I thought it would make me even a quarter pixie (I'd say she's around 95% pixie).
Their fall line is BONKERS. Your mind will be blown.
Fashion aside, the venue itself was swoon-worthy.

It's a repurposed synogogue that had me frantically texting Caulen proclaiming "We're getting married in NEW YORK. Not up for debate. Details and pictures to follow." *** Not actually happening. Pittsburgh all the way.

Even the painted tin ceilling had me scrambling for my camera.

And yes, that is a life-sized green horse lamp. Where on earth do you even find one of those?

In the end, what started as a last-minute trip to NYC to tread unkown show territory left us as happy as fashion buyers in a TopShop. Which we also went to. And it was good.

I want that horse. I want to name him Steven and lay about on him reading very intellectual books by lamp light.
